  • ARE RECURRENT VAGINAL YEAST INFECTIONS DRIVING YOU CRAZY?

If you are suffering from recurrent vaginal yeast infections, don’t let your healthcare provider just prescribe you an antifungal medication thinking all is going to be fine. It won’t. What happens is that you get a partial and transient reduction of symptoms then they come right back.  There are two problem here. First, if this is the recommended approach, your provider lacks the expertise to address the underlying problem and second, it’s not like you can do anything about it either. What has happened is that there has been as shift in the vaginal micro-flora with the vaginal secretions now being more conducive to yeast growth.  Also when frequent yeast infection occur, they often cause irritation to the external genital tissues resulting in chronic itching, soreness and burning. Even if the yeast infection is adequately treated for a time, the symptoms persist and intensify with each cycle of yeast recurrence. Consider the experience of a patient who presented to a vulvovaginal expert, board certified gynecologist, Dr. R. Stuart Fowler who founded FowlerGynInternational.com:

“Finding Dr. Fowler has changed everything for me!  I have been suffering with chronic recurrent yeast infections for the past 4 years.  I have seen 5 different doctors who kept putting me on boric acid suppositories for weeks at a time, all to no avail. The infection would clear for a bit and then the symptoms would start creeping back again.  Not one doctor could figure out why this was happening to me. I am an otherwise very healthy 42 year old woman.  I was in constant discomfort with burning, itching and discharge and became very depressed.  I tried everything on my own, from following an anti candida diet, taking probiotics, drinking tons of water, weekly acupuncture, holistic candida cleanses, nothing worked.  One evening while I was on line doing even more research, I googled excessive discharge and Dr. Fowler’s site popped up.  I figured I had nothing to lose at this point and decided to fill out his questionnaire and see if he could possibly help.  Just speaking to him made me feel better, as he was empathetic, understanding, compassionate and made me feel like I wasn’t crazy.  It’s hard to suffer from an invisible illness!  It’s hard for others to truly understand what you are going through, but Dr. Fowler did understand. I knew right away that I was on the right track. After taking the Vaginal Fluid Analysis Test, he was able to come up with a diagnosis of Inflammatory Vaginitis.  He immediately put me on a protocol of medications and products that I was to use for a four month period.  Today I am 90% better!  The constant burning and itching was gone after the first couple weeks of treatment and now I’m feeling almost completely back to normal!!  After 4 years of hell, I have my life back and I can’t thank Dr. Fowler enough.  He is even easier to reach on the phone than my local doctors.  Dr. Fowler is the real deal and he will help you!”   T. Valley Village, California

Dr. Fowler of Fowler Gyn International (FGI) is the “real deal” and treats women with chronic vulvovaginal conditions from across the entire US. If you have been told you have chronic yeast, don’t even bother to use yeast diets, probiotics, acidophillus, acupuncture, holistic cleanses, and medicated douches, because none of them work. Unless you are diabetic or on recurrent antibiotics, the problem is that the vaginal flora is all out of wack. Or in medical terms, there has been a shift in the type of bacteria that dominates the vaginal flora, known altered vaginal micro-flora pattern. Any one of these patterns can create “culture media” so to speak that promotes the growth of yeast in the vagina. You are asking yourself, what causes a shift in the bacterial flora? There is a list of vaginal insults some of which are age related including that amount endogenous hormone secretion which can be affected by lifestyle stress, bordering weight/anorexia, excessive physical activity, proximity to menopause, and smoking. Others include the functionality of hormone receptors in the vagina, presence of foreign body devices in the vagina, excessive ejaculate or douching with natural secretion being flushed out, and tissue effects of vaginal radiation or systemic chemotherapy. Now you are asking yourself, so how do I fix it? Leave this part up to board certified gynecologist Dr. R. Stuart Fowler. In the aftermath of years of clinical observation and research, Dr. Fowler developed a more sophisticated technique of wet preps known as Vaginal Fluid Analysis or VFA Test. This gives a quantitative analysis of the constituents in the vaginal secretions from which treatment protocols are formulated to “push” the altered micro-flora back towards normal. Then the secretions are not conducive to supporting yeast and voila, the recurrent yeast resolves. • HAVE YOU FOUND ONLINE HORROR STORIES ABOUT VULVODYNIA?

What if you went to research a medical condition on the internet and found countless horror stories about your condition? You know it’s not something life threatening like cancer, but still it takes control of your life and can make many routine activities almost unbearable. If you have this condition, you feel like acid has been poured into your vulva, or like sharp knives are being rubbing against your vaginal opening or like a hot poker is being pushed up there. It’s worse when anything touches against the tissue including closing legs together, sitting on a soft seats which push up into the vulva, wearing tight clothing, getting perspiration on the vulva, and intercourse is usually out of the question. Relationships are strained and it’s difficult to concentrate at work. Now granted this condition comes in variable degrees of burning, stinging and rawness from annoying and limiting some activity to extreme as depicted above. But in almost all cases the condition is detrimental enough that the sufferer spends an inordinate amount of time “being conscious” of their vagina. For those of you suffering with this condition, you know exactly what this means. There are a lot of horror stories about this condition on the internet. Fortunately, board certified gynecologist, Dr. R. Stuart Fowler of Fowler Gyn International (FGI), has great news for those who have not found relief from this condition known as vulvodynia. Consider the following testimony of one of his patients:
“In late 2013 I started having burning and pain in the vestibule area. In a three month time frame I saw 8 doctors and tried numerous creams and even had a painful biopsy. Nothing helped and no one could give me a reason for the pain. It was a very emotionally difficult time - I thought I was incurable and would have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. I read "horror" stories on the internet of women who had been suffering for years and could not find relief. I got more and more depressed. I found a great group of women online who have also suffered with this horrible condition and one of them recommended Dr. Fowler. I was hesitant to fly to another state to see a doctor, but I was desperate so I called and made the appointment. It was the best decision I have made! Dr. Fowler understood exactly what I was going through. It took some time, but I can say I am 90% better than where I was a year ago! I feel like I have my life back.” A. Bartesville, OK

  • Why women with “recurrent BV” or “recurrent vaginal yeast” don’t respond to conventional treatment prescribed by gynecologists

As a vulvovaginal specialist, I’m often asked, why did my gynecologist not know how to treat me? This is a frequent question of women with chronic vulvovaginal symptoms consisting of  vaginal discomfort, irritation, itching, burning, discharge and/or odor. Gynecologists commonly attributed these symptoms to recurrent bacterial or yeast symptoms. While excessive bacteria and/or yeast my be present in the vaginal secretions, this is generally not THE problem, but a reflection of the underlying abnormality. The problem is that these women are experiencing symptoms due to Altered Vaginal Micro-flora (AVMF). These patterns are not contagious or infectious but shifts in bacterial flora. Now to answer the question, First: Gynecologists were trained that there are four types of vaginitis because this is the discrimination capability of their standard light microscopes. The true story of vaginitis is that it’s much more complicated than what most gynecologists recognize and most are totally oblivious concerning the existence of AVMF patterns. Second: The typical gynecologist will only see one woman with these symptoms once every 4-6 months so they develop no experience or expertise. Consider the flight of the following patient:
Ladies, please read my review!  I was stuck in this never ending cycle of BV and reoccurring yeast infections.  My gyno kept prescribing me the same medicine and I remember sitting in her office for the 6th time begging her to try something else because what we had been trying wasn't working. She then gave me Dr. R. Stuart Fowler's card and said I think you need to see a specialist.  I immediately googled Dr. Fowler and started reading all of the other reviews.  I felt like many of the women who had wrote the testimonials were experiencing my exact same situation.  I called immediately and scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Fowler.
I am happy to report that after just a few weeks I was already BV & yeast infection free!  I still had a little soreness during intercourse, but I was much better.  It was only one month after that I was 100% better with absolutely no problems or pain!  IF YOU ARE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION, PLEASE GO SEE DR. FOWLER!  The key is to stick to the plan he gives you, exactly!  No cheating or you won't get the results!
*Quick Funny Story-  I was on an airplane headed to a batchelorette party when I looked over a girlfriend's computer screen and asked her how she heard of the soap that she was about to purchase.  She had said her doctor had referred her that soap and she loves it. I asked her if by chance her doctor was Dr. Fowler and her face was in complete shock.  We were both seeing the same vagina doctor, although for separate problems, but both having amazing results!  J. Gilbert, Arizona

  • IS BURNING PAIN AT THE VAGINAL OPENING DESTROYING YOUR LIFE?

Vulvodynia means vulvar pain. There are a number of terms that have been applied over the years in a futile attempt to refine definitions or create subtypes. These include vulva vestibulitis, vestibulodynia, provoked vulvodynia, dysethetic vulvudynia, essential vuvlodynia and generalized vulvodynia. Have no fear, if you have been diagnosed with any one of these terms, there is hope for cure. Do not get discouraged that the “medical literature” suggests that there is no known cause for most cases of vulvodynia and that there are many women who had suffered for years and undergone many failed treatment attempts. Consider the following patient of board certified gynecologist, Dr. R. Stuart Fowler of Fowler Gyn International, PLLC (FGI):
“I have had vulvodynia for over 25 years. I had seen countless specialists over the years but never received relief of symptoms. I have tried botox injections, interferon injections, physical therapy, acupuncture, tissue removal…vestibulectomy, ineffective hormonal treatments, naturopathic medicine, eastern medicine, psychotropic medications, and numerous other treatments  with no avail. I had never given up hope and found Dr. Fowler using an internet search. His treatment has provided me a significant reduction at about 95% reduction in symptoms at this point and I feel optimistic to achieve full remission of symptoms. I was initially reluctant to try some of his treatment recommendations but once I did I was very happy with the results and finally felt normal for the first time in over 25 years. Dr. Fowler is incredibly competent and caring. He is always available  by phone for questions and concerns. I am very grateful I found FGI and would highly recommend it to anyone suffering from vulvodynia.” C. Scottsdale, Arizona.
Get the picture? Most gynecologists and specialists have no idea how to effectively treat vulvodynia. Now after you read many more testimonies like this one on FowlerGynInternational.com (FGI) you may have already signed up before finishing this blog. FGI uses more advanced diagnostic technology which shows objective results as progress towards cure is made. Dr. Fowler has developed a different treatment approach to address the underlying etiology. Each patient receives an individualized protocol tailored to their hormone profile and results of their Vaginal Fluid Analysis. Dr. Fowler has over 30 protocols to achieve the same result, that is to stop the stimulation of the nerve endings in the vestibule of the vulva. Each patient requires slightly different combination of vaginal medications or different dosing. The first visit must be in person but thereafter, monitoring response can be conducted by sending in test specimens from your location.
